About Us

In 2014, MARTINCOLOR celebrated its 50th anniversary. Founded in 1964 as a specialist in color photography, MARTINCOLOR is today a full-service provider for trade show exhibits, custom exhibit solutions, and exhibition technology. The company is run by Micheline Martin-Beilner and Jacqueline Martin-Zies in the second generation.

Most Frankfurters probably know works by Martincolor - maybe even without knowing it. Over the past 50 years, the company has evolved from a classic photo editing studio into a modern printing specialist that adds color to trade shows, exhibitions, conversions, museums, theaters and billboards. Some of our loyal clients include the Schauspiel Frankfurt, the Museum Angewandte Kunst (MAK) as well as the German Architecture Museum (DAM). Here MARTINCOLOR has helped to create impactful experiences.

MARTINCOLOR was founded by Werner Martin, who was born in Wertheim and grew up in Frankfurt. In 1938 he began his training as a photographer at the photo studio Junior at Eschenheimer Tor. After military service and four years of Russian captivity, he started working in Frankfurt again; here he met his future wife Barbara Linke, who was also a photographer. With her, Martin emigrated to the USA. After six years, however, he moved back to Germany - and the couple founded their own company in Frankfurt in 1964: MARTINCOLOR. At that time, the main business consisted mainly of advertising. The business was dazzling, because Werner Martin had brought the know-how of color photography from the USA to the Main and was thus a pioneer in his field. He worked on campaigns for Camel, Ford, Marlboro and Milka.

When photography technology changed from analog to digital, MARTINCOLOR had to adapt again and again. Today the focus is on various large screen printing techniques, the development of modular concepts for custom exhibition booths including
digital and interactive technology. Office space design as well as gallery artwork, individual partitions, installation of walltattoos and fabric coverings is also becoming increasingly important.

Due to the great success of the company, the established business premises in the Frankfurt Westend were too small - therefore MARTINCOLOR relocated in 2009 to Frankfurt-Rödelheim and set up business in an old factory building.
About 2000 square meters are available now, which provide enough space for the eight huge printers. These are able to provide all the 17 different printing technologies the company offers.
New storage space was added, so the extensive inventory of unique exhibit components and exhibit systems can be stored and also managed by customers who make use of MARTINCOLOR’s logistics services.
